Is this why Dr. Hotez is reluctant to debate?
A layperson's video analysis of one of Dr. Hotez's most distributed papers, and commentary on the RFK, Jr. v Hotez situation.

I encountered the work of Dr. Hotez many years ago in my efforts to maintain the ability of parents to direct the medical care of their children.
I recognized this “study” would be weaponized as soon as I read it.
Review the paper here: The state of the antivaccine movement in the United States: A focused examination of nonmedical exemptions in states and counties.
I discovered the same statistical manipulation that permeates all public health messaging regarding vaccines, exemptions, efficacy, safety, infection incidence, inapplicable populations, etc.
Percentage measurement when it is numerically insignificant.
Numerical measurement when it is statistically insignificant.
One of the most dramatic misrepresentations in the paper is Camas County’s, “26.67% non-medical exemption rate”, which turned out to be 4 of 15 kindergartners in a very low population county in Idaho. I was able to turn this into a flier / meme that I used to back up an exhibit I submitted to the legislature when testifying in a hearing about a vaccine exemption bill. My nickname is the self-explanatory “the laminator”. That flier is the lead of this post.
I was able to reference the ridiculous claim, and the audience understood enough that I was able to get a laugh- a rare thing in that environment. Del Bigtree was also on the panel, and told me after, “It doesn’t get any better than a laugh”.
I have a detailed markup posted below.
My experience has shown me that “peer review” is non-existent for papers related to to vaccination.

This “letter” was created during the SB277 bill push when the CA legislature was learning that the CA NME was only 2.54%.

“The "50% to 86%" MMR coverage estimate in this letter is a tortured exercise attempting to backwards engineer the vaccination rate of Disneyland-not CA schools- using modeled infection rates and vaccine efficacy. The paper was created to counter the CA legislature learning that the NME in CA was only 2.54%, refuting the need to eliminate. The paper's language 1 "attempt", 1 "potential", 1 "might", 1 "approximated", 2 "likely", 6 "estimate" (d) (s).”
Really simple. Send the CDC and their thousands of employees and billions in budget. Measure the rates of autism, epilepsy, asthma, adhd, immunodeficiency, food allergies etc against every single Amish child. Publish the raw data. I won’t hold my breath.
Brilliant work as usual, Karl! I need to memorize all this to be prepared when discussions arise! Thank you.
